Max Emiliano Verstappen is a Dutch racing driver who currently drives for the Red Bull Racing team in Formula 1.
He was born on September 30, 1997, in Hasselt, Belgium, to a family of racing drivers. His father, Jos Verstappen, was a Dutch Formula 1 driver who competed from 1994 to 2003. His mother, Sophie Kumpen, was a Belgian karting champion in her youth.
He became interested in motorsport at an early age: he started karting at the age of 4.5. He started competing at the age of 7, and since 2007, he has won the Dutch and Belgian championships in karting for children. In 2013, he became the World and European Karting Champion.
